Typing names and places

Lipreading Names and Places
Knowing that this game is about (names and places) is a clue in its own right. There are no listed so now you must use everything available to you to guess the word.

Remember that some consonants can be difficult to distinguish and some consonants cannot be seen on the lips.

When you press 'play', look at the speaker's eyes, eyebrows and also the throat, as all of these will complement the lip pattern and therefore help you make an educated guess.

How many syllables are in the words? How did the word end? Type your best guess into the box (wrong spelling may affect your score) and see how close you can get to the correct word. If your guess is incorrect, take another look at the same film clip before moving on to the next one, so that you can see how the correct word looks on the speaker's lips. Then press 'continue' to move to the next sample in the game.

If you're ready, you can now press 'play'.
